A wish for the year:

We the people come together across boundaries i.e. countries, nationalities, religions, differences (socially, culturally and historically) for a bigger cause:

To unite for a shared vision of love and peace for the planet and all life on it.

Things that we should do in 2012:
1. Put a stop to the financial corruption. All corporate money and interests should be taken out of politics. The people who have exploited and manipulated the system should be brought to justice.
2. Democracy and human rights should be restored to put the peoples interest and needs before profit. Democracy should be more community based, localized and active.
3. Everything put into production has to be sustainable.
4. Our water supplies has to be clean and protected from contamination and chemicals.
5. Our food supplies should be organically grown and produced in sustainable and environmentally friendly ways.
6. Internet should be free.
7. Education should be free.
8. Transport should be made environmentally friendly. Lets make the many alternatives to oil and oil spills a reality!!!

We have the technology, knowledge and human capacity to make this happen. If we work together, we are strong, we can do it.

Lets help the planet by giving up our egoistic, fearful and exploitative tendencies and step up to the challenge of becoming the powerful, responsible, loving creatures we have the ability to be.

A PLEAD FOR PEACE

WE MAKE PEACE are very excited to announce that teachers in Uganda will be teaching WE MAKE PEACE programs in schools and regions around Kampala.

Peace education is a strong way to move forward and build faith and stability in regions effected by the violence and brutality of war.

“I have been looking at the summary content of the We Make Peace curriculum and surely, this is what we need in schools and communities now. In northern Uganda for example where we have had rebels and war for over 2 decades, the guns are silent now and people have moved from camps back to their homes and children with such war experince are back to school. The Mad Artist Tea Party is an upcoming art and cake auction/event/edible exhibition created in the name of Fair trade and creative collaborations. Think Pop Art, Impressionism or Abstract Expressionism but swap canvas for sugar and seriousness for a sense of contagious enthusiasm.

The Mad Artist Tea Party will be showing at The Future Gallery, 5 Great Newport Street, London, from Friday 27^th to Sunday 29^th. The event is kindly sponsored by Tate&Lyle.

These lovely pictures are from our tent at CAMP BESTIVAL summer 2009.

We had an amazing time offering fun, peaceful activities for the whole family at the lovely summer festival situated around the beautiful grounds of Lulworth castle.

Our tent was located in the Kids Garden where you could also find Nickleodeon’s famous Spongebob figure, the National Ballet, Save the Children, Arts and face painting tents.

We are very pleased with the popularity of the tent. More than 400 children stopped by to make their own fancy dress costume for this years animal magic theme, and we had 230 peace wishes on our Peace Wishing Wall.

Other peace activities included a massive group hug on the main festival field, aided by the brilliant Blue Coats. Thanks to everyone who came to visit us in the Kids garden. We hope to see you again next year.
